Lanao Family Farm School Association Inc commits to the goal of achieving community and/or rural development in Lanao Del Norte in particular, and the whole of Mindanao in general.
LFFSA Inc started when our Hon. Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo introduced to the Lanaoans, the system and advantages of having a Family Farm School in Lanao del Norte. He sees this as the best way of adopting and inducing change not only in Sultan Naga Dimaporo where the school will be situated and where the students come from, but in the whole Lanao del Norte as well. While this fits best to the kind o f economic activity the populace are engaged in, he envisioned the system as a great agent of change; a change which comes first from the child in school, then the child to his family, and the then family to the community eventually. He has two main goals for establishing the Family Farm School in Lanao del Norte,. First is to mould students not only to be intellectually, morally and professionally advanced and equipped, but to be prepared for a gainful employment and economic pursuit as well. Second is to help each family establish a productive and sustainable livelihood so as to make them aware of the importance of having a gainful economic activity to the members of the community where they live.
The Lanao Family Farm School Association is not merely a parent, teacher association because it has its larger scope to the rural areas where it would operate. It is composed of families, professionals, and institutions. It has its aim of improving and helping the members attain education in three aspects, professional, human/social and moral, through appropriate trainings molding them to be equipped and responsible parents and members of the association.
The LFFSA Inc has at present 37 parent members. Of the total membership, 65% are Christians and 35% are Iranon muslims. Despite of this, it has not been an obstacle in the struggle for success of all the parent members.
